Covenant Ministries is a marriage ministry serving the Oklahoma City area. In addition to wedding officiation, bridal consulting, wedding invitations, wedding accessories, and premarital counseling, we also offer counseling for those experiencing marriage difficulties.
My Background and Family
As a native Oklahoman, I'm very familiar with the Oklahoma City metro area. The youngest of 12 children, I was born in Anadarko and moved to Oklahoma City immediately after graduating high school. I've resided in the area my entire life with the exception of five years that I lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I worked in the Research Center of King Faisal Specialist Hospital as an office assistant from 1998 to 2003. I was able to travel through the Middle East and Europe during my employment in Riyadh and meet people from all over the world. I had the time of my life.
I'm the mother of two married sons and have six grandchildren. My older son is a fireman with the City of Norman and my younger son graduated in May from the University of Central Oklahoma and has taken a teaching position in Fort Worth.
My Other Jobs and Future Plans
When not employed overseas, I've spent most of my adult life employed by the State of Oklahoma for the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). I held a brief position at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services upon returning to the U.S. I currently work for the OSDH Maternal and Child Health Service/Women's Health Division. My current position is an Administrative Programs Officer. Some of my duties include monitoring statewide sterilization services for the Oklahoma Family Planning Program as well as managing the purchase and distribution of pharmaceuticals and supplies of the Oklahoma Family Planning and Maternity Programs. I oversee the budgets for sterilizations, clinical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and birth control methods, which are made available to Oklahomans through county health departments and contract agencies. We provide tubal ligations and vasectomies for Oklahomans who cannot qualify for Medicaid and have no private insurance. Upon early retirement I plan to go into full-time marriage ministry with a wedding chapel and counseling center.
Hobbies
In my spare time I enjoy reading; traveling; writing articles about my true life experiences and informational articles; renovating my home; gardening; church activities; playing with my Jack Russell terrier, Habibi; and of course officiating weddings, doing premarital counseling, and helping brides plan their weddings. I collect musical instruments and hope to some day be able to play at least one of them!
